The well known app WhatsApp is the most popular app in India. More than 95% of people are using WhatsApp.
According to source WhatsApp will no longer support few smartphones. Yes that’s true. WhatsApp had stated on their official blog website that “As we look ahead to our next seven years, we want to focus our efforts on the mobile platforms the vast majority of people use. So, by the end of 2016, we will be ending support for WhatsApp Messenger on the following mobile platforms”
WhatsApp will end support for few smartphones by end of June 2017.
These are the mobile platforms which will no longer support WhatsApp Messenger :
- Nokia S40
- Windows Phone 7
- iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
- BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
- Android 2.1 and Android 2.2
- Nokia Symbian S60
WhatsApp has also mentioned that these smartphones are very important part of their story but they don’t offer capabilities they need to expand. They’ll need to expand their apps’ features in future.
So if you are using the above smartphones then its recommended to buy/upgrade to new smartphone if you want to enjoy WhatsApp messaging experience.
