Step 1. Use Windows+R key to Open Run Command.
Step 2. Type gpedit.msc and click OK to open Local Group Policy.
Step 3. Browse the following path:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Windows Update
Step 4. On the right side double click on Configure Automatic Updates policy.
Step 5. On the left side , check Enable option to enable the policy.
Step 6. You will found number of ways to configure automatic updates under the options.
- 2 – “Notify for download and notify for install.”
- 3 – “Auto download and notify for install.”
- 4 – “Auto download and schedule the install.”
- 5 – “Allow local admin to choose setting.”
Select Option 2 , so whenever update will be available it will notify first before downloading it.
Step 7. Click Apply
Step 8. Click OK to complete the task.
That’s it, when new updates will release , you’ll receive a notification in Action Center, but updates wont download and install until you’ll grant the permission.
